Mr. Kwame Acquah was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Ghana effective June 13, 2016 with a presentation of an Executor.

The Republic of Ghana granted him authority to fulfill duties in promoting investments, trade development, business flow and cross-cultural relations after examination of the Letter of Commission issued by the Republic of Seychelles.

He has also been able to further the vision of Subsea 7, Siem Offshore, EnerMech Mechanical, Enpro Subsea, SBM Offshore and Dominion Gas relating to oil and gas, Protea Chemicals relating to ranges of chemicals and First Technical relating to human resources recruitment in the private sector development in Ghana, Africa and abroad.

Travel & Visa: Visitors travelling to Seychelles

Seychelles is a visa-free country which means that there are no visa requirements for any persons wishing to travel. Although a visa is not required to enter Seychelles, visitors should nevertheless have in their possession a valid passport or other travel documents recognized by the government of Seychelles in order to gain entry. The passport must be valid for the period of the intended stay until arrival back in the holder’s country of origin or residence.

A visitor’s permit is issued on arrival in Seychelles to travelers visiting for the purposes of holiday, business, visiting friends or family and who also meet the following criteria:

  1. is not a prohibited immigrant;
  2. is not a holder of a valid permit which entitles the holder to reside in Seychelles;
  3. holds a valid return ticket or ticket for onward travel for the duration of the visit;
  4. has confirmed accommodation;
  5. has sufficient funds for the duration of the stay (minimum of US$150 or equivalent per day).

2.1 Temporary Travel Document

In instances where Seychelles nationals have lost their travel documents while on a visit in Ghana or in a foreign country, they should contact the nearest Seychelles Embassy or Consulate.  In the absence of both they can contact Ministry of Foreign Affairs (link to consular section address).

2.2 Seychelles Passports

Passports are processed and issued by the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. To get access to forms and application procedures please contact the Consulate.

2.3 Repatriation of remains

In the event that a Seychelles national has passed away in a foreign country, we can:

  • Provide the family with information about the necessary conditions and procedures that have to be followed in order for the remains to be repatriated
  • Provide details of local Funeral Agents
  • Bring family member into contact with key persons or organizations dealing with the repatriation

We cannot:

  • Pay any bills or give money from public funds to settle payments
  • Take charge of the repatriation

Family members that are repatriating the remains of a loved one are advised to:

  • Seek advice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/The Seychelles Consulate about the local repatriation procedures as conditions for repatriation vary from country to country.
  • Respect the local repatriation procedures and conditions.
