The Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana (HCCGH) held a distinguished gathering on 29th January 2026 at People Social Eatery, bringing together members of the diplomatic and consular community to usher in the new year, welcome new members, and honour dedicated service to the Corps.
The event was graced by H.E. Imane Ouaadil the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, who served as the Guest of Honour, underscoring the spirit of diplomatic friendship and cooperation that defines the work of the HCCGH. A warm welcome address was delivered by the Dean of the Corps – Hon. Dimitri Avraam, setting the tone for an evening of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the formal induction of two new member countries — Chad and São Tomé and Príncipe — into the Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana. Their inclusion further strengthens the Corps’ diverse representation and reinforces its role in fostering international relations in Ghana.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to honour the outgoing Secretary of the HCCGH, Hon. Kwame Acquah (Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Ghana), in recognition of his service and contributions to the Corps. A commemorative plaque was presented in his honour and was received on his behalf by Hon. Isaac Emmil Osei-Bonsu (Honorary Consul of Jamaica in Ghana), marking a moment of appreciation and continuity within the organization.
Adding a cultural dimension to the event, an art exhibition was incorporated into the programme, showcasing works by the talented artist Nana Prempeh, curated and artistically managed by Dr Maria Panta. Several paintings were sold during the exhibition, with a percentage of the proceeds donated to the Impact Care Rehabilitation Foundation, reflecting the Corps’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility. This gesture builds on the HCCGH’s support for the same foundation in 2025, reaffirming its dedication to community impact beyond diplomacy.
The event concluded on a celebratory note, blending diplomacy, culture, and philanthropy, as members looked ahead to 2026 with renewed purpose and collaboration.
