Celebrating Language, Culture, and Opportunity at Francophonie 2026
The 2026 Francophonie celebrations in Accra, Ghana, will feature a vibrant array of events that celebrate the French language, culture, and creativity to emphasize the theme for the year – Repositioning Ghana in the Francophone space: Language, Partnerships and Opportunities. & Some of the key highlights:

- Journée Enfants avec les Écoles Partenaires: A special day for young French learners from partner schools to showcase their enthusiasm and progress through interactive activities.
- Journée Universités: A dedicated platform for higher education institutions to engage and explore new opportunities within the Francophone space.
- Projection : À la Belle Étoile: A special screening of a film that celebrates resilience and ambition, aligning with the 2026 theme.
- Culture Week: A national celebration that promotes Ghana’s cultural heritage across music, dance, food, fashion, and the arts.
- AFLC 2026: How African languages can unlock new pathways to prosperity, equity and innovation
Last Saturday,14 March 2026, Belgium had the pleasure of participating in the jury of the Siabley competition in Accra, Ghana, organized by the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire, which highlights the talent and creativity of young people. The Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI) and the Consulate of Belgium in Accra provided some of the prizes, which were awarded during the competition.
