The visit to Jubilee House
The 1st FICAC Pan-African Conference for Honorary Consuls on the African Continent was recently held in Accra Ghana. The conference which was a four-day event consisted of various activities including a visit to the Presidency at the seat of government, the Jubilee House.
The delegation to the Presidency was led by Hon. Nikolaos Margaropolous, the President of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC), the Hon. Asif Chowdhury, Vice President of FICAC, Hon. Purrshottam Bhaggeria, Secretary General of FICAC, Hon. Dimitrios Avraam, Dean of the Honorary Consul Corps of Ghana (HCCGH), Hon. Subhi Accad, Deputy Dean of HCCGH, Hon. Kwame Acquah, Executive Secretary of HCCGH and a cross section of members of the HCCGH and other delegates from various African countries.
This historic visit not only demonstrated the importance of diplomatic relations among nations but also highlighted Ghana’s growing influence and commitment to fostering closer ties with its African counterparts. The meeting between the Honorary Consuls and the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, symbolized a significant step towards enhancing cooperation, trade, and cultural exchange across the continent.
The President, expressed his appreciation for the visit and emphasized Ghana’s commitment to promoting African unity, economic growth, and sustainable development. He highlighted the need for increased cooperation among African nations, stressing the importance of trade, investment, and cultural exchange to foster mutual prosperity.
The FICAC President Hon. Nikolaos Margaropolous, presented a citation to the President, conferring on him, FICAC’s highest honor, the Gold Star Award, for his contribution to the growth and sustenance of peace. The President was grateful for the honor done him.
