Profile of The Honorary Consul General
Hon. Ken Kwame Kwaku
Dr. Ken Kwaku is an international Business Consultant and served as Special Advisor to the government of Tanzania, several African countries and corporations throughout the world. He has also worked in the World Bank Group in various capacities between 1976 and 2004. Within the World Bank Group, he served as Global Program Manager, Senior Country and Loan Officer and World Bank Resident Representative in Tanzania, first Director for Africa for the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank Group among other key roles. He was a shareholder and Board Chairman of Bayport Financial Services in Tanzania.
Dr. Ken Kwaku received his Education from Achimota School, McGill University, University of Toronto where he was awarded the Commonwealth Scholarship for Canada and Harvard Business School. In addition to being nominated for the 1996/1997 World Bank Excellence Award, he has been awarded fellowships including the University of Toronto Open Fellowship, the McGill University Open Fellowship, the Ford Foundation Fellowship and the Woodrow Willson Fellowship.
His commitment to excellence has seen him lead and gain recognition in various sectors including Banking and Finance, Diplomacy, Energy, Mining, Tech, Health, Tourism and Academia. He is a strong believer in mentorship, and he has mentored many business executives and academic scholars in Ghana. Dr. Kwaku served as Ghana’s Honorary Consul in Tanzania from 2007 to 2022 and is currently Tanzania’s Honorary Consul in Ghana.
