Appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Botswana in 2013, Mr. Thomas Okyere is a partner and Executive Director for Africa of DPM Holding, an international group of companies with interests in mining, pharmaceuticals, real- estate development, agriculture and manufacturing. Thomas has been instrumental in developing the activities of DPM on the continent mainly in the West African and Southern African Development Community groups. Mr. Okyere is the founder and CEO of Helgard Group of Companies, a conglomerate established in 1994 with subsidiaries in the hospitality industry and business development/ logistics of the Ghanaian Oil and Gas sector. His success came from his devotion to encouraging the private sector to create new links, expand the dialogue on African and global issues and continuously identify new areas of collaboration.
His Civic Activities include serving as Treasurer and Executive Member of Ghana Honorary Consular Corps (since 2015), as country representative on the International Confederation of Agriculture and Food Association, Member of the SADC Heads of Mission Association.
