Today, July 21, 2023, Belgium celebrates its National Day. This public holiday commemorates the day on which Leopold I took the constitutional oath as the first King of Belgium in 1831.
Celebrations are taking place across Belgium and in Belgian communities around the world. In Brussels, the capital city, the main festivities will begin with a Te Deum at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula. This will be followed by a military parade along the Rue de la Loi and the perimeter of the Brussels Park. In the evening, there will be fireworks displays and concerts in many cities and towns.
The Belgian Consulate in Ghana is also celebrating National Day today.
We would like to wish the Belgian Consulate in Ghana a happy and prosperous Belgian Day. We hope that you have a wonderful time celebrating with your friends and colleagues.
To the people of Belgium,
We wish you all a happy and joyous Belgian National Day. May this day be a time for you to come together and celebrate your country’s rich history and culture.
Thank you for being such a wonderful neighbor to Ghana. We are grateful for your friendship and support.
Vive la Belgique!
