High Commission of Botswana to Ghana tours Jospong Group facilities
The High Commissioner of Botswana to Ghana His Excellency Pule Mphothwe has paid a working visit to some selected facilities and subsidiaries within the Jospong Group to familiarize himself with trends in the sanitation and environmental management. He was accompanied by the Consulate of Botswana, Thomas Okyere
Some of the key facilities visited are the Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP)-a municipal solid waste treatment plant, Dredge Masters Limited -a dredging company and Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited (SSGL) a liquid waste treatment plant.
Sharing his experience and remarks regarding after visit, the High Commissioner, H.E Pule Mphothwe said “I’m very impressed with the magnitude of work and efforts put in by the Jospong Group to addressing pressing and pertinent challenges in the area of environment and pollution. I think my country, Botswana can learn a lot from the this.
Touching on collaborative efforts between the two countries; Ghana and Botswana in addressing the biggest challenges of global warming and climate change, Pule Mphothwe submitted that “Ghana is the continental headquarters for continental integration to convince our government as well as our private sector and players in the Sanitation and environment sector and called for a collaboration between the two countries and its businesses to address the common challenges.
Thomas Okyere, the Consulate of Botswana to Ghana also added his voice to the conversation by lauding the Jospong Group for its intervention in the menace of the popular ‘Lavender Hill’ posed to the community and its residents at Korle Gonno and its environs.
Additionally, he applauded the Jospong Group for the employments it has generated for the youths through its solid and liquid wastes recycling initiatives.
Engaging the media, Selassie Serwonu a Business Development personnel and Business Analyst within the Jospong Group expressed that this visit is very important to the company and goes to augment the company’s efforts to expanding its reach to more other African countries and strengthening its business relations with other governments and investors.
